Aluminum is the New Gold Tour LA: Post #5

Arrived a Chris Valenti's crib in West Hollywood today.
Big ups to Chris for inviting me to crash at his spot. Saves me $$ in lodging big time. Dude is super talented and super funny. He has a CD and 2 movies out. peep him at http://ChrisValentiMusic.com
You may also know him from this commercial

We went out to the LA area's most popular Poetry Open mic Da Poetry Lounge at the Greenway Court Theater. An event who's logo is frighteningly close to mine.
I met up with my homey J. Walker and we got on the list after an intense freestye session in front of the joint. As soon as I walked up to the spot someone was like "that guy's an emcee get him on camera" and I got on it! Wish i had footage of that to show you!

Sold a few CDs and connected with some folks after performing Micro-P-H-One-01. Cool shyt. Thanks for the love Cali!

Aluminum is the New Gold Tour LA: Post #4

Ahhh....
The conference is over and Loki is on the way to San Diego and then back to the Bay Area for a DJ gig. I need to be alone and write for the upcoming projects so I'm shackin' out in this hotel in Gardena, CA across the street from

Called the Sea Rock INN.

Not to be confused with my good homey Cee Rock "The Fury"

Ahem...

Anyway. I'm thinking I'm in the middle of nowhere till I call my homey Bintu up and it just so happens that he lives right down the street from where I'm staying so he scoops me up and brings me back to his spot and treats me to the illest Cuban food with his fam. Shyt was dope. This cat is so talented. The world needs to understand what he does. Peep him out at http://www.myspace.com/bintu

Anyway. I'm writing all night tonight. Tomorrow I go to crash at Chris Valenti's crib in West Hollywood.

It was dope we went to this place on the water called Gladstones. The food was dope! The company was even better. I love my fam man! Damn it was sooooo good to see them!

Aluminum is the New Gold Tour: LA Post #2

The Music Strategies Conference

This is the run down.
Anyone who knows Tah Phrum Duh Bush knows that I bust my as to get my music in front of people and give the best show possible. This is where I go to fine tune my techniques with people from various genres of music from Folk to Jazz to Hip-Hop to Bluegrass to Rock to Singer/Songwriter to Classical to Electronica. All with mutual respect.
This conference meets every 5-6 months. It is headed by music industry guru Tim Sweeney. He's building an army of serious indie artists which he guides in their quests to become self sustaining entities without the necessity of major record label involvement. If you ever wanted to meet a more talented and driven bunch of people I doubt you could do it. This is it!
We've become a strong family. You can get in if you're serious. Hey, this type of hustle ain't for everyone.

Here's some flix of people I've come to build with, some other people I happened to meet and chill/jam with and some impromptu shots of my performance at the Westin Hotel in Los Angeles.

This girl we met at the bar from San Diego got "bad ass shoe of the night" award:

Jammin in the Hotel at like 4 AM.

Aluminum is the New Gold Tour: On the Road to LA

Peep the pretty pictures Y'all.
We passed a lot of cool shyt and some not so kool shyt. There was an area where there were miles and miles of cow farms and they were herded into these little areas and unable to roam freely. It smelled horrible! Makes you question the meat that we eat. Hey... I stopped eating beef 5 years ago. But that's another story.
Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Aluminum is the New Gold Tour: Oakland

Oakland was dope...
Club Anton's

At first it was a bit scary... We got there for a 9pm Sound Check.
The doors opened at 10pm and nobody showed up till 11:30pm. It was like everyone waited until that time to come in. Loki fell asleep in the car after eating almost a whole pie at Dominos Pizza.

Propaganda was kinda pissed off. Literally. He dropped his brand new, high-end cell phone in the toilet at the club. Yikes!!

Lots of talented folks in the spot.
Big ups to "The Emcee and the DJ" who put the event together.
Tablik from Mass Pyke couldn't make it out. (We missed U man!! Hit me up.)

We got up second. Prop Anonymous rocked, then I rocked Micro-P-H-One-01 and Shine. They loved it Everyone actually took the diplomas home. (A first!) Then Loki rocked. Overall it was a pretty successful night. Of course... Nobody took any pics of MY performance!!!

Made some great friends and connects. I also saw one of the greatest performers I've ever seen. His name is Rico Pabon. This dude is bad ass!! Look him up on myspace. One of the best indie Hip-Hop CDs I've ever heard too.

We bid farewell to Propaganda his flying back to NYC in the morning for a big show with his crew Mindspray. Peace man. We'll miss U again!

These two lovely ladies showed Loki and me how to get to the highway after the show. Nothin but love!!

Now for the 7 hour hike to LA!!!

Aluminum is the New Gold Tour: San Fran Post #12

Yes Y'all!!
This morning I picked up Loki Da Trixta from the airport in Oakland.
He arrived just in time for tonight's show. I can't wait!

We checked out of the hotel and became homeless for a while. So we went bar hopping before the EL-P in store performance at Amoeba Records. We ran into the next Mayor of San Francisco

Tonight I went back to Club Six to rock with my man All Soul and guess what?
Nobody showed up... Only the artists. They Closed the club down at 11:30pm WOW!!!
Gotta beef up that promo Y'all.

Then I swung over to Royale again. Shyt was on fire. Different band and different host but the energy was super high. They opened up the mic even more in a "Freestyle Mondays type of fashion. I met a ton of dope people. My man Killer Storm was there too. It's been a while! I even met a few people who I know from myspace. Peep it...

This Dude's name is MC Mars. Dude is A Cab driver/Writer/Emcee with a book out and a CD on the way. Don't sleep dude is a monster on the Mic!

After I got on the mic a few times I ran out to get Propaganda from the Bus Station and we came back but the event was done. We all went to this late night Vietnamese joint and the food was dope!

We had a blast!
